Allen High School in San Antonio, Texas, has decided to make a splash in the 2016 NFL draft, selecting a quarterback from the small school.
The school announced on Monday that the 6-foot-2, 210-pound Austin Allen has been named the No. 2 overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft by the Cleveland Browns.
The pick, the first for Allen since 2012, is the first of two picks in the draft for the small, rural school, which is located in the southern part of Texas.
The announcement comes as Allen is expected to sign with the Browns, who are looking to add a quarterback this year.
Allen was one of three finalists for the starting quarterback spot when the Browns selected Blake Bortles in the second round.
Allen is expected be a second-round pick for the Browns.
