A schoolgirl who lost her virginity in a public high school bathroom and died after being locked in a bathroom stall for two days died in the hospital.
The 15-year-old girl, who had gone to the Srivitaya Bhavan school in Jharkhand’s Gonda district on August 25, had been admitted with an acute infection.
She was taken to the hospital but died on Monday morning after being admitted with dehydration, the district’s director general of police (DGP) Pritam Sharma told reporters.
The girl was found to be in good health and had been released on Wednesday.
The DGP said the girl had undergone two surgeries and had recovered enough to return to her school.
According to police, the school had closed at 9 pm after the incident.
The girl had reportedly gone out to take a walk at the school grounds when the incident took place.
