JACKSON, Ala.

— Jackson High senior cornerback Jadon Johnson, the No. 1 prospect in the 2017 class, committed to the LSU Tigers on Thursday, sources confirmed to ESPN.

Johnson, a 6-foot-4, 190-pound safety, chose the Tigers over offers from Auburn, Georgia, LSU and Mississippi State, according to multiple sources.

In a tweet, Johnson said, “The coaches here and I have known each other for a long time.

I love what they are doing.

LSU is one of the best teams in the country and I’m excited to play for the Tigers.”

Johnson is the No: 23 prospect in 247Sports’ composite ranking of the nation’s top prospects.
