Allatoona High School was closed after it was ordered to close by the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (Cal Fire).
Allatoona students, parents, and students of nearby Rancho Tehama High School were also placed on a lockdown for about two hours, the same time students were also being moved from their home to other nearby schools.
A school district spokeswoman told ABC News that the order came after students and their parents complained that the lockdown was affecting their ability to study.
Officials also ordered students to stay home for the next 24 hours, but they could return home after that, the school district said.
Officials said the order was issued at 11:42 p.m. local time Friday, the exact time it took for the evacuation order to be issued.
Officials were able to secure the school and students and safely evacuate them, according to the Roseville Fire Department.
Roseville High School is located on a portion of Interstate 5 near the town of AllatoonA.
